Who we are
Garage Conversion Southampton runs this website and is responsible for the personal information you send through it. Questions about this policy can go to enquiries@garageconversionsouthampton.co.uk or 07930 368740.
What we collect
The enquiry form sends us your name and phone number, plus anything else you choose to add: email address, postcode, garage type, the room you want and your notes. If you phone or email, we keep your contact details and a note of what was discussed. Our web host keeps ordinary server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security.
How we use it
Your details are used to answer your enquiry, arrange the survey, price the work and, should you proceed, deliver and manage it. We do not send marketing and we never sell personal information. If a contractor carries out part of your conversion for us, they receive only what they need for that job and may not use it for anything else.
Our lawful basis
We rely on steps you have asked us to take before a contract, on performing a contract with you, and on our legitimate interest in running the business, for example keeping a record of enquiries and handling questions or complaints.
Who else sees it
Our website host and email provider handle form submissions for us so your enquiry arrives. When Building Regulations approval is needed, the property details and your name as owner go to the Building Control body for your address (Southampton & Eastleigh Building Control, Test Valley Borough Council or New Forest District Council) or to a registered Building Control approver. We will disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after two years at most, or sooner if you ask. For projects that go ahead, records are kept as long as needed to manage the job and meet legal, tax and insurance duties.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, limit how it is used, or object to its use. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you think we have mishandled your data, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) deals with complaints.
